For my Sequential Art Class we had to do a comic about a character who gets trapped on an "island". the comic is about how they try to escape, and the result of these attempts. I wanted to take an illustrators approach to the project, but we were only allowed to use one character, and all my attempts to give this piece deeper meaning, resulted in me needing to use multiple characters. So I decided on this story. The character needs some work, I'm not sure if she reads as being made of fire, but I'm pretty happy with this, especially since this was completely done in ink.

I only had a week to have the concept, character design, setting, panels organized, and the comic developed. I started inking the pages yesterday at 7:00 p.m., and finished 8:00 a.m. with no breaks. Finished just in time to leave for class... 

So this is Celestia. She is a star who falls from the sky. When she lands on earth, she finds herself trapped. Extremely sad, she notices a light in front of her, the moon! Only it isn't the moon, it's the moon's reflection in the water. But poor Celestia is a Star from space and doesn't realize this. Excited she thinks she is jumping into the sky, but instead she meets a watery grave as the water evaporates her flame-made body. 

I wanted to turn her into a starfish but I Doubt that I will, because this project is already turned in, and a new page won't really change my grade. Maybe if I get time in the future...
